Starting out

Rumi reminds us that often we try to drink from a cup even when we are standing under a waterfall.  So how can I begin to say anything, anything at all, about art and life? These topics are way bigger than me. But maybe that's my point, and where I can start.

I drink from a very small cup, I know. I'm just glad I get to taste the richness of life at all. When Billy Collins edited Poetry 180 he presented a reading list for American high school students. But I find the poems rich and inviting for me, here in my 40's. Check out his instructions on how to read a poem ... Poetry 180 - Introduction to Poetry. Do you agree? Would you read a poem like a plate of spaghetti or like an interrogation?
